Clever & Switch — the hybrids
Steep like a press, finish like a pour-over — 4 min
Percolation ties contact time to grind — the bed drains when the bed drains. A shut-off valve unties the knot. The Clever Dripper is a cone with paper and a valve that opens only when it sits on a cup; the Hario Switch is a glass V60 over a ball valve you flick with a thumb. Both let you steep as long as you like at any grind, then drain through paper.
What you get is the best of both parents: immersion's even, self-limiting extraction, then a percolation finish — the brew filtered through its own settled bed and the paper — that polishes the cup clean.
